CRAZY FOR KATE by
Kelly
McDonough
Not only is Chris a hot-looking construction worker who looks good
in ripped jeans and a white T-Shirt, but he’s got a soft spot in
his heart for the family he dreams of having.
Enter Kate McKaye. She has two sweet young girls that their
father wants nothing to do with. He mails a monthly check and
that’s the extent of his connection with them. It breaks Kate’s
heart to know the man who fathered her children wants nothing to
do with them. It also makes her angry and realize the mistake she
made marrying him years ago. She was his eye candy until she got
pregnant, and he wanted no part of her or their babies.
But, this sweet and sexy woman and her two young girls steal
Chris’s heart. For the life of him, he can’t understand why a man
would turn his back on such a beautiful woman and his two adorable
and sometimes precocious daughters. He’d give anything to be the
man permanently in Kate and her daughter’s lives.
There’s only one problem: Will Kate still love him when she
discovers his secret?

Celestial
Passions: Meri by Judy Mays
Thousands of years ago, the dols and the orcs
disappeared from the planet Mediria because the three races of the aquatic
planet refused to desist fighting their racially motivated wars. Their
amazing departute in huge space ships so shocked the Medirians, Aradabs,
and Nissians that the three races immediately ceased all hostilities and
worked together to develop their civilization and technology with the sole
purpose of fnding the dols and orcs and bringing them home to Mediria.
Now generations later, Lillalistross don al'
Ademis from Drakan, the planet the orbiting the Merdirian sun exactly
opposite it has returned a kidnapped child to the Aradab. On his shoulder
rides a tatto of his clan totem - a dol leaping from the waves of a
rolling blue sea. The dols and orcs do not live in the seas of Drakan,
but can this man lead the Medirians to them?
Princess Merilinlalissa has no doubts. This
Drakian, somehow, someway, is connected with finding the dols and the
orcs, and she's going to find out how. The fact that he's very tall, very
handsome, and very sexy only makes her determination to discover all she
can about him that much more interesting.

Dear Booklovers:
It's been awhile since I've sent out a newsletter! Life does tend to interrupt
and boy oh boy! has a lot been happening around here.

Let's see, we'll start with my 16 year old daughter wrecking my new car.
Totaled. Ruined. Un-driveable. Crushed. Demolished. Yup. Gotta love kids. She was
OK~just sore for a few days. Talk about a total OMG moment where you just want
to puke and cry and hug and scream.
Tax season kept me busy working days, evenings, weekends... thankfully Uncle Sam
gives reprieve for the rest of the year. Damn day jobs.
What else... oh, yes... there'd
be the new man in my life. The computer geek got the boot a few months back,
then there was the Navy guy, the Redneck... The new guy, well, he makes me
smile. A lot. I kinda like him. We'll see how it goes. I will say, it's
exhausting dating a younger man. Deliciously so! Being thirty
cough-cough and single and dating has definitely been an adventure.
I've got some great new authors and books for you to check out and add to your
TBR pile this summer, along with some great SUMMER CONTESTS. And don't forget
the monthly gift drawing, it could be you (details below).
Muah!

IF ONLY
by
Celia Cooper
Golden Wings Winner, May 2008,
Contemporary Romance
The blonde woman stopped before Barbara,
tossing a fearful look in Rachel’s direction, before reaching out and
gently lifting Barbara’s hand to her, palm up, and peered at the
opened extremity. She raised a bejeweled, ruby tipped finger and
traced the lifeline. Her dark brown eyes peered deeply into Barbara’s.
“You have recently suffered a
great personal loss.”
Rachel harrumphed behind
Barbara.
Ignoring Rachel, she
continued, “You have come home seeking a glimpse of the past to answer
questions of old. You will have to make a decision between
two--brothers?—which will change your living arrangements as well as
your life…”
Before she could continue,
Rachel grabbed Barbara’s elbow and propelled her toward the front
door, muttering under her breath, “Any fool can see the white circle
where your wedding ring used to be and, of course, you’re seeking
something. You came into this bloody shop. What a fraud.”
The blonde turned and softly
called to the retreating backs of the two friends, “By the way, Dylan
says you are headed in the right direction, and he wants to thank you.
Now he can rest.”
Barbara planted her feet to
the floor. She whirled and, grasping her throat, whispered, “Dylan?”
The blonde approached warily,
glancing at the furious face of Rachel looking over the head of her
friend.
“Yes. He said you,” she pointed at
Rachel, “would not believe me, but he was finding it difficult to get
a message through to you. Barbara, he wanted very much for you to know
the quest you have taken is the first step to setting him free. He
knew he was your second choice.”
Barbara gasped, tears welling in her
eyes, “He never said a thing.”
“He has told me to
thank you for all the years of love you gave to him and says he wants
you to find your first love who now searches himself.”

His Shadowed Heart' by
Hazel Statham
As in his own room, all
was in darkness, but turning to where he knew the bed to be, he raised
the candles higher so that their glow spread across the room,
illuminating the sleeping figure there. Crossing to the bed, he knelt
at her side, placing the candelabra on a small table at the side of
the bed, extinguishing all but one of the flames.
The shadows of the remaining light played across Caroline’s sleeping
countenance and he smoothed a lock of hair that had strayed across her
forehead. He knew the desire that his lips should follow his finger’s
course, but even in his state of inebriation, he knew this would be
foolish.
For several minutes, he
watched his wife sleep, eventually placing his head upon the pillow
beside her. His lips curved into a loving smile as his eyes drank in
her sleep-softened countenance and he felt her breath caress his
cheek. The longing to hold her became an almost physical thing and his
arms ached with the suppressed desire.
Eventually she stirred, muttering incoherently in her sleep, and he
raised himself up. What foolishness is this, he thought.
I am acting like a callow youth, and immediately he was on his
feet. Snatching up the light, he went quickly out of the room, closing
the door quietly behind him.
